A Little Bit About Blackwood

Blackwood is an Australian hardwood native to Tasmania and eastern Australia. The timber can vary in colour from medium golden to reddish brown, similar to a Mahogany, and can have ribbon-like streaks of colour and contrasting bands of colour in the growth rings.  The grain is usually straight to slightly interlocked but can sometimes be wavy and curly.
